STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME- AN OVERVIEW

The Induction Programme was conducted for the B.Tech. first year students as per the curriculum of HPTU Hamirpur.When new students enter an institution,they come with diverse thoughts,backgrounds and preparations.It is important to help them adjust to new environmentand inculcate in them the ethos of the institution with a sense of larger purpose.It is organized by the department of Applied Sciences on 15th November to 18th November 2021 for the the first year students.The Induction Programme comprised of interesting activites like singing ,musical chairs,dumb charades,physical activites etc.The students enthusiastically participated in all the events.

In these sessions, Ms. Lovely ,HOD Applied Sciences addressed the gathering , given overall view of KC group of engineering, presented student induction objective, introduced the teaching and non teaching staff .And then acting Principal of Engineering Er.Rishi Dev Joshi delivered the new students how to be discipline and how their behavior should be in the college and explained about the importance of every branch of engineering.

Students visited to library, clerk office ,labs and department of Applied sciences, computer sciences,civil and electrical . They introduced the rules of library and about the benefits of e-library by Assist. L ibrarian Ms Kulwinder Kaur and shown the workshop,labs equipments and machinery by respective lab in-charges.

Ms Anu, member of cultural activities, briefed the students about the importance of “extracurricular activities” and informed the students about the measures initiated by the college to prevent ragging. Sports Incharge Mr.Davinder Singh, DPE encouraged the students regarding physical fitness, discipline and benefits of sports. Students enthusiastically participated the extra- curricular activities like musical chair,dumb charades ,singing,debate etc.

Er.Suryakant ,senior faculty of Electrical department, conducted a session on Universal Human Values (UHV) on the topic “Purpose of the course, Student Aspiration, Family Expectation, Gratitude”.
