Model & Discussion Lessons
Model and Discussion Lessons Program:
Teaching is a skilled job. In order to develop some insight in the basic skills involved in teaching, the model lessons are delivered by the respective subject teachers in the actual class room situations.
Teaching Practice:
The teaching practice of six weeks duration is split up in two spells first four weeks practice in the month of
October/November and second two weeks in the month of April. All lessons are supervised by the concerned teachers. Comments are entered in the lesson note
books and feed back are given to the students. Teaching practice is an
important segment of B.Ed. course. After the model lessons, students are sent to
different schools in groups to practice the skill in teaching in actual class
room and school environment. Residential contiguity of the students is taken
into consideration while allotting the schools. The change of school is not
allowed unless the principal and the incharge of practice are convinced. The
students are directed to abide by the rules and regulations set by the principal
of the respective school. Each group of students is associated with a teacher in
charge for necessary guidance.
Discussion Lessons:
Each student is required to deliver four composite discussion lessons in two
teaching subjects offered by his/her in B.Ed course. A student is assessed
in each teaching subject by the subject teacher and the coordinator. The
students are also required to deliver two micro discussion lessons one in each
teaching subject.
Long Teaching Practice:
The students will go to the same schools allotted previously for block teaching practice till the final skill in teaching examinations. Students are required to keep record of the lessons delivered during the teaching practice and get their lesson plans signed by the teacher in-charge regularly. At the end of the teaching practice completion certificate has to be obtained from the head of institution of having delivered 60 lessons (25 composite lessons and 5 micro lessons for each teaching subject) and 40 observations (15 composite and 5 micro in each subject).
