General and Disciplinary Rules
Attendance
As per the norms of Punjab State Board of Tech. Education, 75% attendance is compulsory to become eligible to appear in Examination. A student who does not complete 75% lectures, will not be allowed to appear in the final Examination of the semester. Absentees will be charged fine as per norms of PSBTE.
• 75% attendance of the students is compulsory as per rules & regulations of
Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Indl. Training, Chandigarh.
• Any student whose attendance falls short of 75% will be debarred from
appearing in the semester examination.
•Student who is continuously absent for more than 10 working days would be struck off from the institution roll & would be only re-admitted
with the recommendations of his/her class in charge and after paying the re-admission
fees.
• Use of Mobile phone in the classrooms and adjoining corridors is strictly
prohibited.
• Drinking, Smoking & use of any type of drug is prohibited in college & Hostel.
• Students are required to wear proper & decent dresses. The dress will consist
of Pant & Shirt for boys and Salwar Kameez for girls. Sikh student may wear
turban. Patkas are not allowed.
• Frequent absence from college will be taken as an act of indiscipline.
• It will be responsibility of the student to keep his/her parents or guardians
informed about his/her progress in the college.
• All fees must be paid in advance before beginning of the semester. Non-payment of fees shall result into removal of his/her name from the college
and deregistration with P.S.B.T.E. & I.T., Chandigarh.
• It will be the responsibility of the student to keep the college informed about
any change in the address and telephone number of his/her parents of guardians.
• Demonstration and strikes are prohibited in the college . The students,
however, may give suggestions or put up their grievances if any to the
Principal. In case of any unruly action by the students and damage to any
property or equipment in the campus, the concerned student or the group of
student involved will be liable to pay the cost of damages with 10% service
charges.
• Fees once deposited will not be refunded.
• Ragging of any student inside or outside the campus is strictly prohibited.
Indulgence in ragging will lead to strict disciplinary action and
to registration of a police case.
• Disciplinary action will be taken against students creating nuisance of any
kind prejudicial to the academic environment in the campus.
• Breach of college rules or any other misconduct will render a student liable to
disciplinary action including expulsion/rustication form the institute.
• All legal disputes shall be under the jurisdiction of the courts of Nawanshahr.
