INDUSTRIAL VISIT OF KC POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AT KAPURTHALA

The department of Electrical engineering in KC Polytechnic College Organized an industrial visit to Jagatjit Industries Pvt.Ltd. situated in Hamira,Distt Kapurthala(Punjab) on 13 April 2019 .A group of 15 students of electrical branch of 4th semester and 6th semester visited the power plant in the supervision of electrical department lecturer Er. Harpreet Kaur and Er. Jaswant Singh

Our students visited companies own Sub Station and power plant and get the practical knowledge how electricity is generated in the plant and further utilized in the various section of the plant. Company�s technical Head (Electrical department) Er. Chandra Shekher guided students throughout the visit. He gave practical knowledge about Sub station which is used to produce electricity and distribute in various sections of the company. Our students also visited Co Generation Plant which is used to produced 7MW of electricity. He also gave information how electricity is generated with high pressured stream and further that stream is converted into electricity with the help of turbines. Moreover, our students visited control room where latest Siemens control systems and PLC SCADA system is used for controlling the turbines.

However; during the visit the students also got an idea of various industrial engineering concepts including quality controls and testing of products . This visit was to enhance the knowledge of students in spheres of production and quality control. The visit was an informative experience satisfying the curiosity of engineering students, where they could relate to the theoretical knowledge of the subjects to the practical application in industry.

To put to sea into; Er. R.K. Moom (Principal) also give more practical information to students that how they can get placed in industry and become a successful engineer. He also motivate students to focus more on practical knowledge which would help them broaden their horizons in technical skills. Er.Harpreet Kaur (HOD EE) also encourages students to take more interest in practical knowledge.
